Zen family
The Zen are a Venetian patrician family, among the oldest families. They reached the top of the institutions with Renier, doge in the thirteenth century. They arrived in Venice under the doge of Angelo Partecipazio.
The lineage has left traces in toponymy: a calle, a campiello and a Zen branch are located at the Jesuits, near one of their palaces; in the Frari there is a sotoportego and a further small Zen courtyard, with another stately residence nearby.
