Venier family
The Venier were a patrician family from Venice. It is one of the oldest houses in the city. Although a branch that moved to Candia had participated in the anti-Venetian revolt on the island, the Veniers of Venice always remained faithful to the Serenissima and had leading roles in political life (they gave three doges).
They would be the builders of the church of San Zan Degolà.
