Alessandro Vittoria
Alessandro Vittoria (Trento, 1525 - Venice, 1608) was a famous sculptor. He arrived in Venice in 1543 and began working in the workshop of Jacopo Sansovino. From the 1850s onwards he became independent and worked as a sculptor in Venice and the Veneto. Together with Sansovino he is one of the greatest representatives of the 16th century in the field of sculpture. His figures are endowed with a great sense of mobility that brings them closer to the Baroque. Unfortunately, he did not have anyone to continue his art.
