The present altar was built by the Fellowship of St. Anthony as a replacement for an older wood. The design is Baldassarre Longhena, while the execution is by Giuseppe Sardi, as well as attests to the contemporary Vincenzo Coronelli (1650-1718). Four large columns of white Carrara marble frame the statue of the saint surrounded by four angels. On the sides are statues of Faith and Hope, works by Bernardo Falcone di Lugano (1630-1697); above them, on the sides of the entablature, are placed Charity and Prudence by Giusto Le Court (1627-1679).
